Nepal´s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been admitted to Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular Centre at the TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, today. PM personal physicians reported some chest complications Monday early morning following which he was rushed to the hospital.
TUTH is just few minutes away from his official residence in Baluwatar, where he was rushed around 4 am in the morning, according to his secretariat.
Doctors at Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre in TUTH organised a press conference at the hospital premises this morning to brief media about his health condition. They said the leader’s chest was infected whereas the sugar level was imbalanced.
“Gradual improvements have been observed and other indicators are normal,” the Centre’s Executive Director Uttam Krishna Shrestha informed.
Cardiologist Dr Arun Sayami, leader of the treatment team looking after Oli, said the Prime Minister would be requested to stay at the hospital for next two days.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who shares the Nepal Communist Party chairmanship with Oli, visited the Prime Minister at the hospital to take stock of the PM´s health this morning.
The Cabinet meeting was postponed on Friday citing Oli’s ill health. However, it will convene at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar today, according to Aryal. PM Oli had attended the Sunday cabinet meeting for just 10 minutes.
The PM is suffering from seasonal influenza for the past few days. Owing to his ill health, Oli had also missed a tea party hosted by his own party on Saturday afternoon. His secretariat, however, had reported on Monday afternoon that his condition improved.
Nepali Gossip wishes the Prime Minister a speedy recovery.
